This morning, ACA met with students from the new BTS Finance and Financial Products program launched by the School of Business and Management (ECG) in collaboration with ACA. These discussions provided the perfect opportunity to highlight the appeal of the sector and its numerous advantages for future professionals.
To continue supporting, developing, and optimizing education within the insurance sector, ACA actively participated in the creation of the new BTS Finance and Financial Products program launched by the School of Business and Management (ECG) in the fall of 2022.
Developed in collaboration with key players in the Luxembourg financial market, this new BTS (Higher Technician’s Certificate) program is structured around three main pillars: banking products, insurance products, and investment funds.
The insurance component alone comprises 136 hours of coursework. Additionally, students receive instruction in cross-cutting subjects relevant to the financial sector, including a dedicated course on Fintech and sustainable finance, compliance, and software used by financial market participants (including a specific module on insurance). All of this is complemented by a common curriculum covering economics, law, English, taxation, financial mathematics, digital communication, and more.
Pursuing this education is an opportunity to become a future talent in the financial sector, meeting the criteria set by insurance companies’ recruiters. The program equips students with the general and professional skills needed to take on responsibilities within a financial company in the Luxembourg market. The theoretical concepts taught and the practical approach of the courses are contextualized within the Luxembourgish economic and legal framework.
As the BTS program is designed for professional purposes, ECG has implemented 18-week internships to promote candidates’ autonomy and enable them to gain initial professional experience. Students conclude their training by developing and presenting an individual project focusing on their specialization (banking, insurance, or investment funds).
Through ECG’s collaboration with insurance industry stakeholders, graduates of the BTS program gain an additional advantage: the opportunity to apply for insurance agent accreditation through an equivalence request to the CAA, enhancing their professional prospects in the insurance sector.
