From Zurich, the ACA organized on March 01, 2 round tables on the occasion of its event “Switzerland – Luxembourg: Life Insurance as a bridge“
Marc Hengen, Managing Director of ACA started the event with a first panel: “Why use Luxembourg life insurance?“
The panelists were able to discuss the importance of Luxembourg life insurers for Swiss private bankers, in particular thanks to their specialization in international wealth management. The opportunity to also underline the power of unit-linked life insurance products and the crucial role of banks in asset preservation.
The panel also discussed the growing influence of green finance in life insurance and the increasing customer demand for sustainable products.
The second round table, moderated by Valérie Tollet, Member of ACA Executive Committee, focused on “How to use Luxembourg life insurance”, a topic that highlighted the technical aspects of Luxembourg life insurance products.
The different panelists started the discussion by proposing concrete solutions for individuals and companies in the EU, as well as the growing use of private equity as an underlying asset in insurance contracts. Finally, our various experts stressed the importance of working closely with bankers to better serve clients in a global way and preserve their assets, with structured offerings.

Marc Hengen has been ACA’s Managing Director since 2013. A lawyer by training and an insurer by profession, Marc joined the ACA Management Committee in 2010. Marc is also a member of the Haut Comité de la Place Financière, a member of the Executive Committee of the UEL (Union des Entreprises Luxembourgeoises), the Secretary General of AGERE (Association des gestionnaires d’entreprises de réassurances) and a member of the Management Committee and Treasurer of Insurance Europe.

Valérie Tollet is an expert in the field of taxation, with 20 years of experience as a tax specialist in consulting firms in Belgium and Luxembourg. Holding degrees in law and tax law, she has developed a sharp expertise in these areas.
In 2020, Valérie joined the ACA (Association des Compagnies d’Assurances et de Réassurances du Luxembourg) as a Legal and Tax Advisor. In her role, she is responsible for cases related to life and non-life international insurance, reinsurance, as well as various working groups within the organization. Her scope of action also includes Luxembourgish and international tax issues, where she plays a key role in representing the ACA in the UEL’s Tax Taskforce.
Beyond her tax-related duties, Valérie also supports ACA members in human resources matters, demonstrating her versatility, commitment, and ability to take on strategic responsibilities within the organization.
In January 2022, Valérie became an Insurance Mediator, and was promoted within the ACA in April 2022, becoming a member of the Executive Committee. She then took charge of the work and management of the International Life, International Non-Life, and Reinsurance Commissions.
Furthermore, Valérie is also committed to the ASTF (Association pour la Santé au Travail du Secteur Financier) as a member of the Board of Directors and serving as Secretary.
Due to her extensive expertise, professional commitment, and involvement in association initiatives, Valérie Tollet was appointed Deputy CEO of the ACA in March 2024.
