ACA Innovation Award 2024 – Pitch MOPSO

Mopso, founded in Italy in 2021 with a subsidiary in Luxembourg since 2022, offers different integrated solutions to address AML compliance. One of the latter is Amlet, a dynamic, customizable and automated tool for onboarding and compliance in financial institutions. Amlet was tested within the Bank of Italy Regulatory Sandbox starting in July 2022, with Illimity Bank, Banca Reale, and Credem (who joined in May 2023). The goal of the testing period, which spanned 18 months, was to experiment with the dynamic questionnaire designed to collect and verify customer information. The Regulatory Sandbox highlighted Amlet’s possibilities, paving the way for wider adoption in the financial sector.

Amlet seeks to streamline the Customer Due Diligence (CDD) process by automating key tasks such as data collection, verification, and risk evaluation. Its primary objective is to reduce the manual, repetitive efforts typically required in these processes, ensuring a more efficient and cost-effective approach for financial institutions. By leveraging AI and the Mopso NET database, Amlet enhances accuracy in risk assessments while maintaining full compliance with AML regulations. Moreover, it introduces the concept of portable CDD, allowing customers to securely transfer their verified data between institutions, minimizing redundancy and improving the user experience.

About the ACA Innovation Award

The ACA Innovation Award 2024, organized by the Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (ACA), is a flagship event in Luxembourg aimed at promoting innovation within the insurance sector. This competition brings together startups, insurers, reinsurers, and members of the ACA ecosystem for a day dedicated to collaboration and creativity.

This year’s finalists presented innovative solutions focused on two essential themes: automation and digitization of processes, and optimization of customer relations. With the support of sponsors and guidance from ACA members, the startups were able to refine their projects, showcase their potential, and move closer to establishing strategic partnerships with Luxembourg insurers. This event reinforces ACA’s role as a catalyst for innovation in insurance, facilitating collaborations and paving the way for the adoption of new technologies within the industry.
